    Mega Man is Great

I like Mega Man games but....they could have made a new one instead of just remaking the old ones on a portable system...anyways, This game is great. I mean, whats more fun than gaining powerups and blasting enemies away with your hand laser!??????????TELLME????????? It is a great game that brings back historical gaming...IT RULES!!!! I rate this game with a fun factor of 3 and an overall of 4....I mean there are better games...BUT THIS ONE IS COOL TOO!!!!! BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Mega Fantastic

Mega man Mania is awesome. I couldn't stop playing it.
    Five gaming masterpieces are reborn!

The Mega Man games have gone down in history as some of the finest side-scrolling action platformers out there. Five games from the original series got released on the Game Boy, but the only problem is many gamers failed to realize the existance of these games, due to their poor distribution. At long last, Capcom is rereleasing all five Game Boy Mega Man games, on a single Game Boy Advance cartridge! Read on for my review of Mega Man Mania.

    Mega Man
Notes: This was the first Mega Man game for the Game Boy. It featured four robot leaders from Mega Man (NES), and four from Mega Man II (NES.) It also introduced a new robot master - Enker. All of the Game Boy games introduced one of these new leaders (I'm going to refer to them as Mega Man Killers in this review.) Also, this is the only game to feature the Carry - an accessory that lets you create platforms beneath you as you fall. The game follows a basic "revenge" plot.

    Mega Man II
Notes: The second Game Boy Mega Man. This game took four robot leaders from Mega Man II (NES) and Mega Man III (NES.) The Mega Man Killer featured here is Quint. This was the first Game Boy appearance of Rush and the slide move. The plot involves Dr. Wily finding a way to time travel.

    Mega Man III
Notes: Third Game Boy Mega Man. This one has Mega Man III (NES) and Mega Man IV (NES) robot leaders. Punk is the Mega Man Killer introduced here. The plot here involves Dr. Wily using a sea fortress to mine for elements which he can use to make stronger robots. This was the first Game Boy game to have the charge-up attack.

    Mega Man IV
Notes: Fourth Game Boy Mega Man. You guessed it - robot masters from Mega Man IV (NES) and Mega Man V (NES) appear here. This was the first Game Boy Mega Man to feature the modernized Mega Buster, as well as the first Mega Man game ever to feature an item replicator and cut scenes. It's also the only Mega Man game to feature a fully-charged Mega Buster kick.

    Mega Man V
Notes: The fifth and final Game Boy Mega Man. Unlike previous games, this one has its own storyline, involving Mega Man traveling the galaxy to defeat the Star Droids - Robots named for the planets they occupy. This is the only Mega Man game to include Tango (a robotic cat that attacks your enemies), as well as the only original series game in which Dr. Wily isn't the final boss (although you will fight him.)

Like with the consular Mega Man Anniversary Collections, Capcom has promised bonus material. It's tough to say what all they will be featuring, but it should be insteresting nonetheless.

Overall, these are five masterpieces of gaming, and if you own a Game Boy Advance, I strongly recommend purchasing this game when it comes out. If you've played Mega Man games before, you know how fun they can be. If not, you're in for a real treat if you like action platformers. Don't overlook this little gem - doing so will be the ultimate sin!

  • Customer Review:
Nice but not perfect.Nice but not perfect.

I've had the EluminX for almost a year now, the feel and layout of this board is much like that of a laptop. The illumination will draw many gamers to this keyboard but I don't think it is well suited to the abuse that game play dishes out. This keyboard is delicate! My "D" key stopped working recently from all the fps abuse I was laying onto it. I just ordered the Saitek Eclipse to replace it and will review that once I have more time on it.

This keyboard would be perfect for people using it in a media PC or any non game rig. Side note... you have to really be diligent on keeping it clean as you will see all the crumbs and stuff that falls between the keys.

    Pros:
    Cool factor
Really looks great in a dark room
    Nice feel

    Cons:
    Very delicate.
Only available in legacy PS/2 connector.
Illumination flickers from time to time
    Lock keys are GREEN LED's
    Nice (unique) keyboard

I like working in a dimly lit office and this keyboard provides all the ambient light I need. I would describe the feel as somewhere between a Sun Type 6 keyboard and a laptop. The only gripe I have is that the space bar is rather narrow and the keybord lies flat which I found uncomfortable until I made a rear riser out of some scrap wood and velcro tape.

I have only had it a week so I cannot comment on durablility but it seems pretty solid.
Great for ambiance junkies..and for smaller work areas...

I had this on my Amazon wish list just for fun. Since it was the only thing on my wish list for less than $100 (OK, for less than $600..why do you think it's called a wish list!), I scored it from a kind relative at Christmas.

It's a very good performer on all counts. Be advised that this is not a full size keyboard: it's probably somewhere between a standard keyboard and a laptop keyboard. I have big hands/fingers, and it accomodates them comfortably...more comfortably than a laptop keyboard does.

The light is very cool from an atmosphere perspective. The light is a soft blue-white, and just looks nice. Lighting power is provided by the PS2 connection, nothing extra required.

Ours resides on a small desk in a small spare bedroom, where an older computer sits for use by guests. It's smaller total footprint is appreciated in this workspace where real estate is at a premium.

It may cost about twice as much as a name-brand wired keyboard that is not illuminated...but it's easily twice as cool:-)
